Our Parent Teacher Association consists of a number of very dedicated Parents, Teachers and Staff. They commit their valuable time and energy to improving the School facilities, facilitating communication between Parents, Guardians, Students, Teachers, Staff and other Stakeholders, fundraising through school approved functions and the provision as necessary of refreshments at School functions and sporting activities.
Charity
The PTA also makes an effort to contribute to charities as we are able to when possible, give back to the local community, and provide support to many of our children whose families and guardians have limited resources
Contribute
Each year the PTA donates 10% of the money it raises at the May Fair to local charities. Past beneficiaries have been Twali School, Lunga Orphange and Wakwashi Nzambi School for the Disabled. Please come to support our school fair and be a part of something that stretches beyond the gates of Amano. Whether you could help run a PTA stall, donate unwanted goods for our second hand stall, offer food to sell at the cake stall or just bring some friends along to visit the fair on the day however you contribute, please get involved in some way.
May Fair
The PTA holds an annual May Fair on African Freedom Day and Market which has been very well supported, fun family sporting activities as well as many ‘non-event’ fundraisers. If you would like to be or know of any stall holders who may wish to sell their goods at the May Fair, please get in contact with the PTA via pta@amanocs.org for details of how to apply for a pitch at the fair.We welcome people selling most items but we reserve the right to decline a seller if their products go against our school guidelines.
Get Involved
Having been occupied by major fund raising for our pool and insaka over the past few
years, this year we have a new project. If you would like to assist the PTA by volunteering your time, expertise or in any other way, please do contact the school office or any one of the PTA members directly. A reminder that all Parents/Guardians are welcome to attend our meetings as observers. Our meetings include, guardian questions, comments and suggestions, management of PTA financial resources, events planning and effective school community communication.
Thanks
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people whose valuable contributions of time, effort and financial support have helped us thus far.
