Secondary Curriculum

Our school curriculum offers as wide a range of subjects as possible, bearing in mind the constraints of teacher numbers and available resources.

In Lower secondary, Grades 8-10 (age groups are roughly the same as the UK's Key Stage 3 and 4), we offer the following subjects:

Christian Foundations

Art

Biology

Chemistry

English Language

English Literature

French

Geography

History

I.C.T. (Information Communication Technology)

Mathematics

Music Theory

P.E. (Physical Education)

P.H.S.E. (Personal, Health & Social Education)

Physics

The curriculum prepares the students for Cambridge IGCSEs, whilst giving a local flavour to its History, Geography and Literature. We have our unique Christian Foundations programme which aims to take the students through the Bible and its key messages.

In Upper Secondary all our students must take the following subjects to exam level:

Christian Foundations, English Language & Mathematics

They can then choose up to 7 more subjects from the following:

Biology

Business Studies (via internet)

Chemistry

Child Development

Development Studies

English Literature

Food Technology

French

History (via internet)

P.E.

Physics

Textiles

They will continue to study ICT and PHSE but not to exam level.

The school uses the Cambridge International Examinations IGCSE examinations system and is a recognised examination centre for Cambridge.
